Translated user feedback into feature redesign and refinement

 Understand and user’s suggestions and feedback

  • Ask user why - In this part, we asked our interviewee users questions mainly focus on anything they like about our prototype? Anything could be improved? And make sure they understand the priority. From the interviews my team did with our interviewees, we received a lot of answers.

    • The part that the user like about our prototype

      • Clear, easy, accessible;

      • Tutorial videos are easy to follow and understand;

      • Function buttons are very stand out for senior adults;

    • The part that could be improved

      • The font size of the title could be bolder and bigger;

      • Adding app description so senior adults can understand what does the app do before they learn how to use it;

      • Some descriptions use images. Users thought it might be too hard to understand, tutorial videos would be better than images.

Organize user’s feedback

  • Organize user’s feedback by taking notes while the interviewee'

    • In this part, our team made a google spreadsheet for each team member to summarize their interview notes and fill in the spreadsheets.

    • After everyone has done their interview, we shared our interviews with other team members.

    • We created a Miro page for us to organize our user's feedback.

  • Organize the similar suggestions

    • After sharing our interviews, we wrote notes for each team members, then we organized similar suggestions;

    • We use the checkmark to specify the notes

    • Here is the organized note:

Translate user feedback into the new feature

  • Analyze the needs of our interviewees

    • Our users prefer to read a clear description

    • Our users would rather watch tutorial videos than reading tutorial images

    • Our users suggest we add app descriptions for different platforms.

  • Investigate the feature that the user has questions about

    • Tutorial present

      • Some images cannot clearly explain the process

      • Some of our tutorials used video for our interviewees, they appreciate the video version

    • Font style/size  â€‹

      • The font size used on the title

        • Bolder would be better

        • The style could use a formal font

      • The font size used in the description part

  • Consider the feature that impacts user’s satisfaction

    • App Description - Some of our users didn't know anything about Discord. Adding app description can help users to understand what the platform is

    • Tutorial presented by videos - Users would like to watch a video to learn how to use the function they want to learn, they can also follow the video

    • Font style/size - Especially for senior adults, a big, clean style will help them to read the descriptions

  • Make sure to see the effort that the user put into our test, it will help the team to understand which part we would like to develop the feature.

  • The team would like to test the feature redesign to the same users one more time

  • Release feature redesign if most of the users agree
